Computer Support Group General Presentation

To be fully efficient, Cerfacs' research has to be supported by High Performance Computing and Networking (HPCN) technologies, and by a project team turning user's needs into solutions. Similary strong software support has to be provided to let researchers focus on their scientific problems.

Key responsabilities of Cerfacs Computer Support Group are:

Architecture : To define and maintain Cerfacs Architecture including information and communication technologies infrastructure through anticipation of future needs and technology directions.

Solution integration : To address specific strategic user's needs with integrated solutions and services. Both working as a team to create solutions, and working closely with users to define specific answer.

User support : To provide and maintain at all times Information Technologies (IT) management tools and HPCN software environment. To assist researchers in using and learning about IT resources, working closely with them to provide technical and application expertise including assistance with programming and optimisation.

Information sharing : To spread all necessary practical information and advice Cerfacs teams in all areas of interest.
