ComputingTechnical and scientific high performance supercomputing is becoming more and more important. Realistic combustion computation using complex geometries, chemical kinetics, aircrafts aerodynamics, climate variability ... for each of these CERFACS' research domains high performance conputing is a prerequisite to stay competitive.

Indoors CERFACS' computing servers deliver about 21 Tflop/s :

IBM Massively Parallel Computer : IBM BlueGene - 11.4 peak Tflops.
IBM Nehalem cluster : iDataPlex - 7 Tflop/s
IBM PowerPC cluster : IBM BladeCenter - 2.2 Peak Tflops.
Cray AMD Opteron Cluster : CRAY xd1 - 576 peak Gflops.


Through CERFACS' Partnerships additional resources are available outdoors :

Vector Computing : NEC SX8 (Idris) & NEC SX8R (Meteo-France).
Scalar Computing : BULL Novascale (CEA CCRT), SGI ICE (CINES) & p575 (ECMWF), IBM BG/P (Argonne National Laboratory).
