Context / Contexte

LES methods are rapidly developing and replacing classical Reynolds Averaged
methods (RANS) in laboratories but also in industries. CERFACS is the center of
this evolution in France: working with laboratories and for companies, it is the
place where the AVBP code is developed and distributed both to the piston
engine companies but also to the gas turbine companies (SNECMA, TURBOMECA)
or to Airbus.  Work at CERFACS mixes fundamental developments in CFD and
applications to real devices.

 

Description / Description

CERFACS builds Large Eddy Simulation codes (see www.cerfacs.fr/cfd) for
reacting flows and distributes them to industrial partners and to multiple labs in
France.  Present developments include two phase flows, kinetics, acoustics,
numerical methods (high order techniques on unstructured meshes) . Previous
CFD members of CERFACS are found everywhere in industry and academic
positions (see list of Ex-members in CFD team). Excellent position
to publish. The post doc students are expected to lead researches and manage
contracts (bilateral or European).
