Parallel programming tools


In this training session, the Message Passing Interface (MPI) for programming on distributed memory computers is detailed. The main features of MPI-I are reviewed (environment variables, point to point communication, collective communication, derived data types, processus topology). A basic introduction to Open-MP for programming on shared memory computers is also given. A hands-on session with detailed exercices is finally organized to illustrate these concepts.


Target participants:
Beginners in MPI and OpenMP.       

Prerequisites:
Basic knowledge of programming (Fortran).
