The CFD team is working for CERFACS partners but also for multiple external institutions and 15 to 20 contracts are active every year. Maintaining a high-level of academic excellence remains however a central aim, which is expressed through 2 to 3 PhD theses defended every year, an average of 20 papers in refereed journals and several invited papers at international conferences. The CFD team has established intensive collaborations on the regional, French and European level as well as with many US universities.These numerous collaborations are essential ingredients in the evolution of the CFD activities: new people but also new ideas and concepts are entering and leaving CERFACS on a daily basis and there is no doubt that this is the first strength of the CFD team.
