Context / Contexte

A joint laboratory between INRIA and CERFACS on High Performance Computing has been recently created. Hiepacs - the first team-project of this joint laboratory located both in Bordeaux and in Toulouse - aims at addressing the development of new algorithmic methods for massive parallelism and hybrid architectures.

Description / Description

In order to address these research challenges, two post-doc positions are now open in the CERFACS Parallel Algorithms team led by Iain Duff. Methodological and algorithmic research in high performance computing on next generation architectures and/or high performance solvers for linear algebra problems (e.g. hybrid solvers for large linear systems of equations, eigensolvers) are possible target topics for these positions. The applicant would be expected to join existing projects as well as showing initiative in pursuing new research directions in that framework.

A strong background in applied mathematics, parallel numerical linear algebra and in computer science would be ideal. The duration of these positions is 24 months at most. Additional benefits of the position include a gross salary in the range 2,900 to 3,100 euros per month and excellent travel support.
