Context / Contexte
CERFACS is a research organization that aims to develop advanced methods for the numerical simulation and the algorithmic solution of large scientific and technological problems of interest for research as well as industry, and that requires access to the most powerful computers presently available.Within the framework of the ACCLIMAT project, founded by STAE-RTRA, CERFACS is recruiting a development engineer to build a numerical modelling platform. This project, applied to Toulouse agglomeration, addresses the issues of impact assessment, adaptation and mitigation of the climate change at the city scale. The methodology is based on a systemic modeling of complex processes.
Description / Description
The candidate will use the PALM parallel code coupler, developed at CERFACS (http://www.cerfacs.fr/~palm) in order to build the platform. She/He will have to integrate every models in the platform, to build the coupling algorithm and to manage all the data exchanges between the models. Those models (MESONH, SURFEX, NEDUM ...) are developed by the different actors of the project.She/He must have a solid scientific computing experience and a good knowledge of Fortran, C and Matlab. A background in code coupling, as well as experience in parallel computing (MPI/OPenMP) would be an advantage.
