CESC
M'Barek Fares - F. Collino - Abderrhamane Bendali
The effort made during the three past years to settle a library of routines to solve problems in electromagnetism in the frequency domain as much general as possible has reached an end. It results in a code, which was called CESC (for Cerfacs Electromagnetic Solver Code), integrating in one component the treatment of as general problems as those involving multiple junctions of metallic plates, thin wires (even with a radius comparable to the mesh size), junctions of wires and plates, multiply layered dielectrics and multiple junctions connecting dielectrics and metals. The code can deal with various feeding: plane wave for Radar Cross Sections calculations, delta-gap for imposing a tension at some point, and point sources. It yields field charts for near field computations, far field patterns and in some cases the value of the impedance. The most important outstanding part of this code is that it can run both on sequential and parallel platforms. It can also take advantage of a massively parallel processing without a special investment from the end-user.
A version of this code had been installed at KTH (Sweden) within the frame of a contract.
Several tests have been made to validate the code.
Some recent developments:
- Absorbing materials
- Implementation of the CFIE
- Accurate schemes for the computation of hypersingular integrals
- Patch antennas
- Numerical models for wires crossing an interface between two media
- Out-of-core solver
