Synopsis:

The goal of this Best Practice Action is to show that the concepts implemented in the project HIPERCOMBACTS can be effectively exploited in different domains and that its technology is accessible for SMEs. HIPERCOMBACTS has focused in the design of scooter suspensions using parallel parametric multi-body simulations of heterogeneous network of computers. The main goal of MYSHANET is to adapt the existing code to allow PCs running Windows O.S. be present in the network. In addition, the pre- and post-processing tools will be enhanced to support applications different from those originally addressed. In this new project, the industrial testing will be performed by shock absorber manufacturers that will run parallel parametric studies for the design of dampers for suspensions of various types of vehicles, like cars, motorbikes and mountain bikes.

The main objective of MYSHANET project is to adapt an existing code for parallel parametric simulation of multi-body systems to fulfil the requirements imposed by the design departments of small and medium size enterprises dealing with the production of shock absorbers. Those requirements are expressed in terms of:
  • the computer platform that can be used to perform the parallel simulations;
  • the pre- and post-processing requirements imposed by the design of shock absorbers for automotive applications.
The industrial application of the resulting software product will contribute to boosting the competitiveness of European industries at all levels, including small and medium sized enterprises, since they will have access to the developed new technology with virtually neither additional costs nor expensive investments on sophisticated equipment.

The MYSHANET results will be targeted to the following market sectors:
  • Mechanical designers looking for embedded and complete solutions;
  • Analysts looking for advanced systems.
