Abstract

Parallel s-step and block iterative methods for linear systems have been studied and implemented in the past. We present a block s-step method for nonsymmetric linear systems. We then consider the problem of applying any block iterative method to solve a linear system with one righthand side using many initial guesses. We present two algorithms which combine the many solutions obtained by any block method into a single solution. We implement the new methods on a parallel computer. We present tests to validate the accuracy and the performance of the new methods.
