Abstract:
EADS Innovation Works, as research center of EADS, has been involved in the development of inverse methods and optimization algorithms in Aeronautics and Aerospace, using advanced numerical formulation (BEM integral equation, finite element FEM) and high performance computing solvers.
Some class of inverse and optimization problems will be discussed, with illustrations on various application problems, presentation of several numerical results, but also some key open issues in optimization algorithms problems :
- Large multi scale problems with optimal control techniques for time evolution problems; Automatic differentiation first experiments with INRIA. Application in acoustics sources for launchers, shocks, heat flux identification, aerodynamic coefficients identification.
- Optimal localization and positioning problems using operational research techniques : application in acoustic sensors location for fan noise detection, optimal device positioning to reduce vibrations.
- Non Linear Programming : acoustic material optimization; trajectory control problems.
