Coupled model high level architecture

• Coupled simulation can be performed by
  • Providing data by a model directly through the coupler or
  • Providing data through files
• File Format should be NetCDF using CF convention:
  • NetCDF is portable
  • NetCDF contains a metadata description of the data
  • CF convention guarantees a common naming of variables,attributes and certain values.
• Parallel I/O is under consideration
