Handbook

This AVBP HandBook provides a scientific description of the numerical methods and physical models along with a comprehensive technical description of the implementation into AVBP. The document is composed of newly written parts but also contains a recompilation of various technical notes or conference papers authored by the developers and experts in the respective fields.

Note that it is not the role of this HandBook to describe how to use AVBP neither does it contain any description of files formats, run parameters, etc.

The individual chapters and sections of this HandBook are updated whenever deemed necessary but the entire document is intended to stay independent from the actual version numbering of AVBP.

The handbook is structured into a first part with the description of the physical aspects (turbulence, combustion), followed by the numerical part (discretisation, schemes, boundary conditions) and, finally, a computer science part (parallel computing, grids).
