Remuneration
Salary is according to the fixed funding rules set by the European Commission.
The amounts slightly vary for each country depending on a pre-defined living
cost index. Additional travel and mobility allowances are granted.
PhD positions cover 3 years; the postdoctoral position at QUB is over two years.
Qualification
The PhD candidates hold a university master degree or equivalent in physics or
an engineering field with special emphasis on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD),
which includes fluid mechanics (best fundamental knowledge in combustion and/or
turbulence), and numerical simulation. The postdoc candidate has earned a doctoral
degree in one of the above fields.
Eligibility
As requested in the frame of European Marie Curie mobility programmes,
the candidate should not be citizen of the country of the hosting institute:
e.g. no German candidate for DLR or no French candidate for CERFACS.
Further, at the start of the activity, the candidate may not have resided
or carried out his main activity in the host country for more than 12 months
during the last 36 months. In application of the gender issue policy issued
by the European Commission, female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Special skills
English language skills are advantageous but not compulsory.
The candidates are mobile in a sense that Marie Curie Networks
require (offer !) several training stays of duration between
1 to 6 months on site at the different partners labs.
