OpenPALM

After many years of development and regular use, starting on January 2011, the PALM coupler has become Open Source with the name OpenPALM. In this context, a collaboration between CERFACS and ONERA have started.

The main actual developments concern the adaptation of the coupler to massively parallel architectures as well as the integration of advanced interpolation methods. Indeed, efficient data transfer from a distributed interface to an other distributed interface in a parallel way and on a very large number of processors is a challenging task. Since codes usually do not work on the same grids, surface and volume interpolation models are needed to pass information from one solver to the other. This exchange has to be done efficiently and accurately to ensure that the overall quality of the coupled results does not suffer from the interpolation.

The latest OpenPALM distribution is available here.
