STOPP is a Research Training Network supported by the "Improving Human research Potential & the Socio-economic Knowledge Base" , one of the individual programmes within the European Commissions 5th Framework Programme. It is a 3.5-years project (from February 1st, 2000 to August 1st, 2003), involving five partners form France, Spain, Greece, England and the Netherlands.

The principal objective of a Research Training Network is the training and mobility of young researchers in a leading field of science and technology. The young researchers participate to a collaborative scientific project and to workshops and conferences organised by the Network or other entities.
