News from the USA

N E W Y O R K, July 17 - As airline passengers suffer from an increase in flight delays due in part to weather, new technology developed by NASA and currently being tested at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport may help speed takeoffs and landings while improving safety. NASA researchers have designed a system to more accurately predict wake turbulence generated by aircraft. The system, called the Aircraft Vortex Spacing System (or AVOSS), would allow more efficient spacing of planes making their landing approaches. http://airlinebiz.com/wire/07182000
