Program

The conference takes place over three days. The first day is dedicated to a workshop featuring hands-on sessions focused on technical aspects of TELEMAC. The following two days will be dedicated to participant presentations, organized into thematic sessions.

Two on-site sessions (October 14) and one fully online session (November 10, 2026)

Planning of the Workshop on October, 14th : 

AM (9h30-12h30) : Using user Fortran files in TELEMAC-2D and TELEMAC-3D: implementing custom developments and practical examples.

Theoretical material and short hands-on on impletation of user Fortran routines. This session is intended for advanced TELEMAC users with:

  • A basic knowledge of Fortran (variable declarations, loops, subroutines, etc.);
  • A good understanding of TELEMAC-2D.

Participants must bring their own laptop with openTELEMAC v9.1 (or the current development version) already installed and fully operational. Installation packages and instructions are available at:

PM (14h00-17h00) : Tutorial on QTelemac

QTelemac (final name to be confirmed) is a standalone graphical user interface (GUI) for creating TELEMAC-2D input files and running simulations either locally or on remote computing resources (clusters or remote machines).

It provides the following features:

  • Guided creation and editing of TELEMAC steering files
  • Mesh visualization (lightweight alternative to ParaView)
  • Visualization of boundaries and liquid boundaries (similar to plot.py)
  • Inspection of mesh nodes and elements
  • Study management, including multiple steering files, parametric studies, and calibration workflows
  • Keyword search within steering files
  • Advanced developer view of the steering file
  • Import and export of complete studies

During this workshop, participants will discover and test an early version of the software. Participants should bring their own laptop. Installation instructions and packages for Windows and Linux will be provided in advance.

On line Session on Tuesday, November 10th, at 4:00 pm (Paris time) on xarray for Selafin

In addition to on site sessions on October 14th, we will offer an additional session online on xarray for selafin given by Thomas Saillour at JRC-ISPRA.

xarray-selafin tutorial and workshop. 

  • What: An online presentation and tutorial session on xarray-selafin, an xarray backend for the SELAFIN file format used by TELEMAC. 
  • Details: After a short (~20 min) presentation of the tool and its capabilities, participants will have the opportunity to play with data based on real TELEMAC examples. 
  • The presentation & workshop will cover output visualisation (1D/2D/3D) as well as the preparation of input files for TELEMAC runs.
  • How: A ready-to-use online environment (Google Colab-style) with example datasets will be provided, so participants can follow along and experiment directly, with no local installation required. 
  • Who: The tutorial is open to all TUC participants. A vision link will be provided by email.
